Graham Simpson MSP questioned the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care, Angela Constance, on when the new Monklands Hospital would be built and how much it would cost.
The Cabinet Secretary was unable to provide a confirmed completion date or final cost for the project.
Angela Constance said she would “bust a gut” to get the hospital redesign plans before her by the end of the year, with construction provisionally expected to begin in 2028.
Graham’s questions focused on two fundamental issues for patients, staff and the wider Lanarkshire community: when will the new hospital be delivered, and what will it cost?
